I. Product Description

· Grade 1 Titanium stub end , also known as titanium butt-weld rings, are installed as follows: After inserting the titanium stub end into the stainless steel flange, weld the titanium stub end to the pipeline (titanium pipe system). Then butt-weld two welded titanium stub ends together, securing them with the stainless steel flange. The medium-contact area within the pipeline consists solely of titanium components-namely, the original titanium pipe and the titanium stub end. The stainless steel flange does not come into contact with the medium, serving only to secure the connection. This design significantly reduces overall costs.

Titanium stub end offer outstanding comprehensive mechanical properties: Titanium itself possesses high strength, enabling flanges to withstand significant pressure and loads. Simultaneously, titanium's low density reduces overall equipment weight while maintaining component strength, balancing safety and economy. Additionally, its excellent sealing performance effectively prevents leakage at pipe connections.

II. Processing Flow

Titanium stub end is a metal stamping process that utilizes dies to form straight walls or flanges at specific angles along closed or open curved edges on the flat or curved surfaces of titanium blanks.

1. Cutting: Titanium tubes or plates are cut to specifications for stub end, ensuring precise material dimensions.

2. Tube Stabilization: Cut titanium tubes are pressed into circular dies matching their outer diameter using a hydraulic press to secure their position.

3. Heating: Use a torch to heat the flanging section until the titanium turns red, achieving a malleable state.

4. Pressing: Employ a hydraulic press to form the heated section into a funnel shape, then use a core die to further press it into a horizontal state.

5. Post-Processing: Perform subsequent operations such as heat treatment or machining as required to obtain the final product.

III. Application Scenarios

1. Chemical Industry: Used in chlor-alkali plants for flange sealing in wet chlorine gas coolers and electrolytic cell piping connections; in PTA units, it connects reactors handling acetic acid/hydrogen bromide mixtures, ensuring long-term stable operation.

2. Marine Applications: Used in reverse osmosis high-pressure piping connections within seawater desalination equipment, withstanding high chloride ion concentrations. Serves as flange sealing in ballast water systems of offshore platforms, significantly reducing long-term operational costs.

3. Environmental Protection: In flue gas desulfurization spray pipe connections, withstands erosion by sulfate slurry at pH=2, adapting to severe corrosive conditions.
