1.Performance Analysis
(1) Mechanical properties
Moderate strength: tensile strength between GR1 and GR3, suitable for scenarios that require a balance between formability and strength.
High plasticity: elongation ≥30%, excellent cold stamping and bending performance, but need to pay attention to rebound control.
(2) Corrosion resistance
Oxide film protection: the surface titanium dioxide film is stable in oxidising media (e.g. seawater, nitric acid), but needs to be used with caution in reducing acids (e.g. hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid).
Pitting/stress corrosion resistance: better than stainless steel, suitable for high chloride ion environment (such as seawater desalination).
(3) Welding performance
Process adaptability: TIG, plasma welding can be used, no need for post-weld heat treatment, but need inert gas protection to prevent oxidation.
(4) Processing performance
Cold forming: good, but need to control the deformation rate (annealed state is better).
Cutting process: tool wear is fast, low speed and high feed strategy is recommended.
(5) Thermal properties
Melting point: about 1668℃, suitable for low and medium temperature environment (long-term use temperature ≤ 350℃)
Thermal conductivity: low, need to pay attention to heat dissipation design.
(6) Biocompatibility
Non-toxicity: conforms to ISO10993 standard, suitable for long-term implants.
