Core processing technology
Spin-forming
The high-precision spinning machine is used to reliably fix the titanium billet in a special mold, and through the synergy of rotary pressure and rotational motion, the material produces continuous plastic deformation and gradually expands into an overall curved surface. This process is especially suitable for the manufacture of complex curvature heads such as discs and ovals.
In order to overcome the problems of high deformation resistance, easy cracking and mold wear of titanium, we use high-strength special molds and apply hard lubrication film to effectively inhibit surface micro-cracks and significantly reduce friction losses.
Welding process
Panel welding strictly follows the process evaluation report (PQR) and welding process specification (WPS), and preferentially selects tungsten argon arc welding (TIG) or submerged arc welding to ensure that the strength of the weld area is exactly matched with the base metal.
Strict control of weld residual height - excessive excess height is prone to local bulge defects due to uneven friction and deformation differences during subsequent stamping or forming process. By precisely controlling the shape of the weld bead and grinding and trimming, the overall transition of the head is guaranteed.
Heat treatment control
Customized heat treatment scheme according to the forming method and material characteristics:
Cold pressing (carbon steel/low alloy steel head): Annealing treatment is applied to completely eliminate residual stress and prevent stress corrosion.
Hot press forming (titanium head): Solution treatment is used to restore the corrosion resistance and comprehensive mechanical properties lost during the processing process to ensure uniform and stable structure.

Quality standards and testing points

Surface inspection
The weld area is 100% penetrant testing (PT) to ensure that there are no surface opening defects such as microcracks, porosity, and slag inclusions.
The base metal area is inspected or fully inspected according to customer requirements or standard grades.

Dimensional accuracy
Ovality error: ≤1.5% D (D is the nominal diameter)
Transition zone curvature radius: Strictly comply with the requirements of ASME VIII roll or GB/T 25198 standard to ensure the accuracy of docking with the cylinder and the rationality of stress distribution.

Mechanical verification
Room temperature tensile test and impact test (if applicable) are performed on each batch to verify yield strength, tensile strength, elongation after break, and impact toughness.
For titanium alloy heads, additional high-temperature creep performance verification is added to ensure their dimensional stability and safety under long-term high-temperature service conditions.
