Production Process:
Titanium tee commonly used material for TA2, is a common form of pipe connection, generally small tee production process for hydraulic expansion method and hot extrusion method. Below, we will introduce these three production processes in detail:
Production of titanium tees by hydraulic expansion process
Titanium tees are manufactured using the hydraulic bumping method. The cut tube is placed in a hydraulic mold and filled with liquid, the hydraulic pressure pushes the pressure in the branch out of the fixed hole in the mold. This method provides a good surface finish. However, higher thickness tees cannot be manufactured by this method.

According to the size of the titanium tee to be prepared, select the titanium tube with corresponding outer diameter and wall thickness.
Cut the titanium tube to the length required for the finished tee, with a small allowance.
Place the titanium tube into the mold, center it and fill it with liquid.

Heat treatment
Cut the protruding part during the molding process, clean the inner and outer wall surfaces, machine bevel at the mouth of the pipe, and check the final appearance.
Hot extrusion process for making titanium tee
Tee's with large diameters, thick wall thicknesses and/or challenging specialty materials are manufactured using the hot extrusion method, which cannot be manufactured by hydraulic expansion methods. In the hot extrusion method, a pipe with a diameter larger than the finished size is usually used and the branch outlet is extruded from the pipe with the help of an extrusion tool. Other dimensions of the body and branch can be adjusted by pressing the die, if required.
The hot extrusion process consists of encapsulating a piece of metal heated to forging temperature in a chamber called a "container", which at one end has a die with an opening in the shape of the desired finishing section, and applying pressure to the metal to pass through the other end of the container. When the metal flows plastically under the enormous pressure used, the metal is forced through the opening in its cross-sectional shape.
Using a tee made from raw material with a larger diameter than the finished product, the branch outlet is extruded from the pipe when the body is pressed. The wall thickness of the outlet can also be adjusted as required. Ideal for large diameters, thick wall thicknesses and/or specialty materials with challenging machinability that cannot be manufactured using hydraulic bumping methods.


Butt-welding titanium tee
For larger caliber, generally Φ133mm and above titanium tee production process, due to the base pipe is rarely seamless, or because of the relatively high cost of seamless pipe, and the use of welded pipe for production, or cut the plate into two pieces of the same corresponding shape, through the mold extrusion molding (half of a tee), will be the two molded half of a tee welded to become a finished product of the titanium tee, welded tee is generally suitable for larger caliber and Welded tee is generally suitable for larger caliber and thicker wall tee production.
