Three Major Functions of Titanium Rods as Functional Materials
Shaanxi Qinhao new Material Technology Co., LTD
Functional materials are engineering materials that are mainly defined by their physical properties, meaning they have special characteristics in areas like electricity, magnetism, sound, light, and heat, or they display special functions under certain conditions. Research on titanium rods has found that they have three special functions with practical potential:
1. Memory Function
Titanium-nickel alloys exhibit one-way, two-way, and all-direction memory effects at certain environmental temperatures and are recognized as the best memory alloys. In engineering, they are used for pipe joints in fighter jet hydraulic systems; oil pipeline systems of petroleum enterprises; parabolic mesh antennas with wires of 0.5mm diameter reaching 500mm diameter for spacecraft; in medical engineering for sleep apnea treatment; and as screws for bone fracture healing. These applications have all shown clear results.
2. Superconducting Function
Niobium-titanium alloys display zero electrical resistance (superconductivity) when cooled below their critical temperature.
3. Hydrogen Storage Function
Titanium-iron alloys can absorb hydrogen, storing it safely, and release it under certain conditions. This has promising applications in hydrogen separation, purification, storage and transportation, and in the production of hydrogen-powered heat pumps and batteries.
Our company offers a full range of titanium rod products, with available stock at the factory, and supports customization. Inquiries are welcome.
