1.chemical composition
The main component of GR2 titanium alloy is titanium (Ti), of which the content is not less than 99.2%. In order to ensure its performance, it also contains trace amounts of other elements such as iron (Fe), carbon (C), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O) and hydrogen (H).
Titanium(Ti):≥99.2%
Ferrous(Fe):≤0.30%
Carbon(C):≤0.10%
Nitrogen(N):≤0.03%
oxygen(O):≤0.25%
hydrogen(H):≤0.015%
The content of these elements is tightly controlled because changes in even trace elements can significantly affect the properties of the alloy. For example, an increase in oxygen content increases the strength of an alloy, but at the same time decreases its plasticity.
2.Heat treatment process
The main purpose of heat treatment of GR2 titanium alloy is to adjust its microstructure and mechanical properties by controlling the temperature and cooling rate. Commonly used heat treatment methods include annealing and solid solution treatment.
(1)Annealing
The purpose of annealing treatment is to remove stresses generated during cold working and to improve the ductility and toughness of the material. Typical annealing temperatures range from 600-700°C with a holding time of 1-2 hours followed by slow cooling.

Cooling method:Cool slowly
The annealed GR2 titanium alloy has a uniform grain structure, the internal stress is effectively released, and the ductility and toughness of the material are significantly improved.
(2)Solid solution treatment
Solid solution treatment is primarily designed to increase the strength of GR2 titanium alloys. The alloy is usually heated to a high temperature (850-950°C) and then rapidly cooled.

Insulation time:1-2hour
Cooling method:Fast cooling (water or air cooled)
3.Examples of applications
Due to its excellent comprehensive performance, GR2 titanium alloy is widely used in various industrial fields. For example, in the aerospace industry, GR2 titanium alloys are used to manufacture compressor blades and fuselage structures for aircraft engines; in the chemical industry, GR2 titanium alloys are used to manufacture corrosion-resistant heat exchangers and piping.
